What I’m Working On

The Heidelberg Catechism
1. Q. What is your only comfort in life and death?
A. That I, with body and soul, both in life and death, am not my own, but belong unto my faithful Savior Jesus Christ; who with His precious blood has fully satisfied for all my sins, and delivered me from all the power [...]

I’m a little late in posting this, but I still wanted to do the Commitment to Loveliness this week. Here is my list of things I will work on for January 30 – February 3:
~Wear a pretty pair of earrings each day. I just got some new ones on our after-Christmas shopping trip.
~Clean out/organize the [...]

Dreams, Pics, Cars, and School

The other night was the third time that I’ve dreamed about snakes since I saw that snake in our yard last fall. *shudder* It’s awful.
On Saturday my family and I had our picture taken for a new church directory. As we were reviewing the pics on the computer with a lady from Olan Mills, she [...]

CTL Follow-Up

Here’s my follow up to my Commitment to Loveliness this week.
~Wear sweaters more often instead of raggedy sweatshirts when I’m cold. Check. This wasn’t so hard. The only time I wore sweatshirts was when I was jumping on the trampoline when it was cool out. I will be continuing this pattern. Sweaters feel more feminine.
~Remove [...]

Life Update

Does anyone else find it so convenient to have the local weather show up now whenever logging in to Yahoo mail? I think it’s neat. (But what is with the guy being chased by an ostrich? Now that I don’t get.) Our freezing temperatures are gone for now, but it rained a little bit today. [...]

I will post the answer later. Have fun.

Commitment to Loveliness

Emma is starting something new called the Commitment to Loveliness. This sounds like fun. Here is my list of five things that I will work on for January 22-28.
~Wear sweaters more often instead of raggedy sweatshirts when I’m cold.
~Remove the chipped nail polish from my nails and paint flowers on them instead. I used to [...]

Creating a Beautiful Heart
Humility
[Note: Best read with a Bible in hand!]

In order to develop a lovely and godly character, one of the things we girls need to learn is humility. There are two kinds of humility – humility before God, recognizing that He is holy and we are sinful, and humility before man, by thinking [...]

Check These Off the List

I got so many things done yesterday. It was wonderful. I love Fridays. In the morning I studied another chapter in Genesis, and then I studied for my world lit final. In the afternoon I did a chapter of Raising Maidens of Virtue; started writing the next part of “The Role of Girls;” went on [...]
